We’re busy working on the 2025 festival and already have some fantastic speakers booked. Over the next few months, we’ll start releasing more details. As a reminder, the 2025 Sturminster Newton Literary Festival is from June 6th to 15th next year.
Friends of Sturlitfest
We’re delighted to launch our new Friends of Sturlitfest to support the programme. Although we’re still working on benefits, already anyone signing up as a friend gets:
Advance delivery of the festival programme to your door
Advance priority booking of tickets
(including for those sell-out walks and workshops)Discount on ticket purchases (20%)
Opportunity to become involved with the festival.
Vote on a sponsored Friends event.
As the friend's scheme develops, we will be adding more benefits. Membership costs £10 a year (perfect as a Christmas gift). For further details, email info@sturlitfest.com.
Sturminster Newton Make Stur Sparkle 30th November
Sturminster Newton has an amazing festive programme in the town right up to Christmas and New Year. On Saturday, 30th November, the team from Sturminster Newton Literary Festival will be at the Christmas Fair in The Exchange with a book tombola. You’ll also be able to buy festival gift vouchers and Friends membership.
On 7th December, local writers will be signing books in 1855, Sturminster Newton.
Festival Bookshop
If you are looking for gifts, our festival bookshop has a wide range of Dorset-themed books. We receive a small commission from each sale, which will be used to support future festivals.
We were also delighted to be featured in the latest Slow Travel—Dorset guidebook by local author Alexandra Richards. The book is full of interesting places to visit if you are planning to visit Dorset next year or even if you live here.
Accommodation and Places to Eat
As part of our 2025 plans, we’re updating the website and our accommodation list. If you are a local B&B, self-catering, hotel, etc., do get in touch if you would like to be added to our list. We are also working on a recommended places to eat section, so we would love suggestions.
